How the inspection process works
A licensed wireman and the owner apply jointly to the Government Electrical Inspectorate.
Preliminary inspections can happen during construction, before wiring is hidden.
A final inspection is done, with the wireman on site.
If it passes, a certificate is issued. If not, a defect sheet lists what to fix before re-inspection.

Do I need an inspection before T&TEC connects my house?
Yes. The Government Electrical Inspectorate inspects the wiring and issues a certificate before the first connection of a building's permanent wiring to T&TEC.
Who applies for the inspection?
The owner and a licensed wireman apply jointly, and the wireman must be on site on the inspection day.
What if the wiring fails inspection?
You get a defect sheet listing what to fix. Once it's corrected, it's re-inspected before a certificate is issued.
